Our nervous systems often hold more than words can access. When stress and overwhelm accumulate, the body needs a deeper form of support. 5NP is a highly effective ear acupuncture treatment that allows your system to resettle, restore, and rebalance.

the heart of it

treatment

5-Needle Protocol (5NP), sometimes called the NADA protocol, is a specialized form of ear acupuncture that involves placing five thin, sterile, single-use needles in each ear.

Once the treatment is administered, you’ll rest quietly for approximately 20–45 minutes, allowing the nervous system to settle and integrate.

benefit

5NP offers a powerful, non-verbal approach to nervous system regulation and restoration.

Many people experience increased calm, improved sleep, reduced anxiety and agitation, relief from stress and trauma, and an easier ability to engage with other healing or well-being practices.

This modality can also support reduced cravings related to alcohol, nicotine, or other substances.

investment

Sessions are $45 for approximately a half hour, and are offered in person in Roanoke, VA at a location of your choice, for individuals or small groups (up to 5 people, additional $10 per person, )

  • The needles used in 5NP are very thin. Some people feel little to nothing when they are placed, while others notice a brief pinch or moment of sensitivity. If any point continues to feel uncomfortable, I can easily adjust the needle or remove it while still maintaining the benefit of the treatment.

  • Each person’s experience with 5NP is a little different. Some people feel deeply relaxed during the treatment, while others simply notice a quieting of the mind or body. Afterward, many people report feeling calmer, more grounded, or sleeping especially well that night. Drinking water and allowing yourself a little space to rest afterward can help support the body’s natural process of integration.

  • The frequency of 5NP treatments can vary depending on what someone is seeking support for. In some settings, such as substance use recovery programs, treatments are often offered several times per week. In other contexts, people may receive 5NP more occasionally during periods of stress or when they feel they need additional support. We can talk together about what frequency might be most supportive for you.

a soft place to land

5NP is a simple yet powerful way to support nervous system regulation. I was drawn to this healing modality because it is accessible and offers deep support without requiring effort or insight.

I was drawn to becoming certified in 5NP because it allows me to support the body’s own capacity to return to balance. I create an experience with minimal stimulation, giving you space to relax while the acupuncture does the work.

  • My 5NP acupuncture session with Mel was incredibly relaxing and grounding—she created a safe, calming space that immediately put me at ease. I left feeling lighter, balanced, and filled with positivity.
